Cool video about tulle, take a look:

My birthday was actually last week, but I’m just putting it up now =D In this part I’m putting together the bottom portion of my “punk rock ballerina” dress. I call it that because the torso is made from recycled deconstructed denim and it has this fabric that says BITCH all over it behind the holes. Also, I’m adding a little paint splatter and pyramid studs later on. Materials: Tulle Fabric for skirt (not too heavy!) Sewing machine (machine is easier, needle and thread is possible but it’ll take FOREVER) Scissors Comfortable, stretchy material for underskirt I’ll be back with the final product next week. Let me know if you have any questions and stuff. Enjoy!

I would love to see a PettiTutu tutorial. You know the petticoat gives it the puffy flare and the tutu gives the extra balance.

@LuvEmoDolli4Eva Aww thanks! You can too, if you just practice =)

If you want the entire bottom to be tulle, you wouldn’t include the underskirt and you would just sew a bunch of pleated tulle layers together. =)

what if I want my entire bottom part of my dress t be tulle would I go along the same process as this?

@bookerboo4 I would recommend either A, using a stiffer tulle or B, making the skirt shorter if it’s too long. Also, I find that I get that weird bulgy affect when I don’t put enough pleats in the top part of the skirt, because then it kind of just binds the tulle down. I would also recommend that you make the skirt start lower on your body if it’s making you look pregnant. Let me know if that helps.
=D I would love to see a photo of what you made!

Do you have any tips for making the skirt so when i wear it i dont look pregnant? instead of looking like tulle it just looks bulky.

You can buy it really cheap from Walmart. That’s what I’ve heard people say; I’ve never done it myself but that’s just what I hear. I got the tulle in this video from Joanne’s and most of it was 4-6 bucks a yard, which isn’t too bad, esp. since it was good quality. It’s also good to check out your local small fabric stores; I usually find really good deals at small places for tulle =)
