Cool video about satin fabric, take a look:

zanandrob.com Part 1 – How to do a Braidout. This braidout is done on dry hair. This can be done on any hair type- naturally curly, coily, straight, relaxed etc. My hair is texlaxed. This braidout involved using 3 cornrows, and my unconventional satin fabric method. I am still getting used to blunt cut hair, so braiding the ends is kind of a challenge. With that being said, if I didn’t use the satin fabric, I don’t know how I’d get my braids to stay- so I guess it works out. Watch out for part 2 where I show the results of the braidout. Detailed braidout instructions on my website. Link above. Enjoy.

Hey, you should watch my “Good Braidout vs Bad Braidout” Video to see how I compare the regular braidouts with the satin scarf braidouts.
But 1 reason is it gives better definition. The scarf is acting like a flexirod/roller. Instead of wrapping your around it, you braid your hair with/around it.

Thanks and no prob. I’m just a “different” kind of girl, so I come up with “different” ideas. LOL
I’m glad you like

I’ve never seen that done with strips of satin. Nice. Why do you use the strips and what does that do verses regular braiding?

Texlax is like texturizing your hair. I’ll email you more info.

Thank you! About the clips, I got them as a gift a long time ago. I’ll send you an email to let you know where you can get them

Where did you get the clips you used in the video? Loved the video, btw. Brilliant!

hi silverflowers1, I didn’t just stumble on the satin scarf method. There are quite a few reasons why I started doing it.

1 reason it gives better definition is the scarf is acting like a flexirod/roller. Instead of wrapping your around it, you braid your hair with/around it.
I will do a blog post on it on ZanAndRob . com to shed more light on this.

Yep, I love me some Claire de Lune… too
And thank you :)

Sure, I think it will work that way too. I never tried the outside cornrow because everytime I start cornrowing, I somehow always revert to the inside cornrow.

Instead of putting the scarf under your hair as I show in the “how to cornrow with a satin scarf” vid, you would start the cornrow with the scarf on top of your hair.

will it work the same with an over-handed braid..like one that sits on top and sticks up..like a regular cornrow??

do you know WHY using a satin scarf gives you better definition? like the actual reason behind it or did you just stumble across the method?xxx
