Cool video about polyester fabric, take a look:
A consulting firm with a background in lightning warning systems has come up with a fabric that takes the powerful sting out of being hit with a stun gun or a cattle prod. Thor Shield is a polyester fabric bonded to a conducted material that effectively loops the electricity coming from a nonlethal electricity weapon back to the weapon. “If you are hit, the Taser gun won’t work,” said Greg Schultz, co-owner of G2 Consulting in Tucson, Ariz., which invented Thor Shield. “We return the voltage back to the gun.” Order it at: www.thorshield.com news.cnet.com

@onefodderunit To the government we are, in fact, cattle. Pay your taxes and ask no questions!
You need new batteries…..
@dewboy910 so you dont know much about polyester or conductive materials? i’d say very plausible lol mythbusters style.
@seal0716 the idea behind most projectile weapons is to train for hitting the larger part of the target. less skill is needed.
Well of course your not gonna feel anything its a fabric that doesnt conduct electricity, but how about they taze you on the other 60% of your body that doesnt have that fabric?
I want some applied to a full body skit suit, then I wanna go “streaking” at a ball game. Tase this bitch!
Greater understanding and changes vituosas, and a greater commitment to helping others to be aware and good luck.
For you strength and peace, we are all on the same boulder in connection with the Cosmos. Consciousness Consciousness Consciousness, strength and peace!
Common usage of this material could make tazers extinct.
One may be able to wear grounding straps on your shoes connected to conductive clothing with a shielding layer, as well.
.
We are not cattle, damn it! Thanks.
what if a bad guy gets their hands on these and when they try to attack citizens with a stun gun for protection, they fall victim to the bad guy? i say fuck non lethal weapons, only way to protect yourself nowadays is the .40 cal loaded in a glock 23
THEY SHOULD GIVE THESE TO ALL CHILDREN AND WOMEN AND THE DISABLED as the police love to target them and tase innocent people, also really any man as long as they’re under fascist federal reserve system of terrorism chaos destruction cruelty THE SYSTEM IS THE CRIMINAL THE SYSTEM IS THE TERRORIST!!!!!!
to all the people saying “bullshit”, really… go back to science class… this would effectively draw current into the armor and away from the body, preventing the taser from being effective
@robertojerez
And yet it is a fuck load safer than a fucking pistol. You hippies piss me off, why dont we all revert to how Somalia is, with no standing government and no cops?
yeah officer, do what you do best. Defending a device that electrocutes people actually tells a lot about your morals and humanity.
Can any one buy this or is it only for law enforcement?
actually dr byron lee wrote an article saying otherwise…cardiologist from UCSF with some hard data everyone else is too scared to tackle. Props to Dr. Lee.
Note that by taser being deadly force I mean as in deadly force as in, you’d draw your gun at this stage and fire and nothing less than this.
Maybe I was hasty, the firearm deaths would be the exact purpose of a taser. So a taser should be acceptable in cases of an alternative to deadly force.
Unfortunately it seems like quite a few conflicts are resolved without using what should be the officer’s main weapon: His tongue.
Better training and better screening would help immensely.
Oh sorry, here you go.
”
physical exertion from the chase and the fact that one of his heart arteries was unusually small.
”
We can still see though that between being fatigued and his internal problems, a Taser pushed him over the edge. His physical health was fine and the artery defect most likely never came up until the autopsy.
2) Once, was not ruled as brutality or abuse and officer tried cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
3) Unknown, but he never knew a taser could kill him most likely.
In any case, banning Tasers will bring firearms deaths back up and brutality with physical force will be used instead.
“… that Ryan’s death could be attributed to the Taser shock,”
What’s after the comma?
You need to know three things:
1.) The full autopsy report, which you didn’t provide, to ensure that there were no other medical conditions.
2.) How many times the Taser was discharged, which you didn’t provide, to ensure that it wasn’t brutality and abuse.
3.) When it was discharged, which you didn’t provide, to determine whether or not the subject was warned beforehand.
Correct? Now you’re moving goal posts, but here we go:
“According to his family and friends, Ryan was in very good physical shape. The county coroner found no evidence of alcohol or drugs in his system and ruled that Ryan’s death could be attributed to the Taser shock,”
…
In October, an internal investigation cleared Officer Harris of any wrongdoing and concluded that he had used appropriate force.
Sounds correct to me doesn’t it to you?
Michael Clark was a married man, father of a three-year old son, and now he’s dead after Austin police officers maced and Tasered him in a tragic incident last week. Nine officers were on the scene, but they chose to electrocute the unarmed Clark instead of overpowering him. Clark was being arrested for public intoxication, a misdemeanor.
…
The Tarrant County Medical Examiners Office ruled the death of a man in Fort Worth police custody a homicide.
Third result:
“An autopsy report [...] attributed the death of Ronald Hasse, 54, to electrocution from two Taser jolts delivered by a Chicago police officer. The autopsy said methamphetamines contributed to Hasse’s death.”
Fourth result from less than an hour ago:
“The forensic evidence indicates the force used by the officers against Reilly, including the Taser discharge, did not contribute to his death.”
No deaths have been solely attributed to correct Taser use.
First result:
“Ryan’s death could be attributed to the Taser shock, physical exertion from the chase and the fact that one of his heart arteries was unusually small.”
Should the government should outlaw running to the point of physical exertion, then?
Second result:
“cardiac arrest following nine 50,000-volt electroshock applications from a conductive electrical weapon.”
Let me rewrite my statement: no deaths have been attributed to correct Taser use.
Are you putting me on? I just googled ‘taser death’ and BANG a few articles from various dates including recent ones which shows its still going on.
