How to iron polyester, viscose, lycra blend slacks?

By raysmithtx · Saturday, September 4th, 2010

I have a pair of slacks that are 58% polyester, 38% viscose, and 4% lycra. I have tried to iron them but the wrinkles won’t come out. Do you have any tips for how to iron them properly? What heat setting should I use? Should I sprinkle water on them?

Steam is probably the best wrinkle remover for polyester blends. Try a steam iron that gives a burst of steam while held upright.

either spray mist heavily to thoroughly dampen the slacks OR

run through a (use the lowest water level) short rinse cycle,

remove immediately from the washer

then hang to dry

another alternative if you haven’t tried steam yet – it works great.
