Can I wear corduroy pants to work on casual Friday?
My employer allows wearing denim jeans on Friday only. On other days of the week we can wear slacks, skirts, dresses & bermuda pants, nothing above the knee. Is corduroy considered more or less casual than denim? I’m considering wearing my dark maroon corduroys today because they are more comfortable.
In response to one of the answers, they don’t insist on wearing denim on Friday. They just don’t allow denim clothes unless it’s Friday, but on Friday you also have the choice of wearing outfits that they allow for the other days of the week.

I would say absolutely. I think they’re even less casual than denim.

They insist you wear denim? Strange….I consider corduroy dressier than denim. Hope they don’t give you any crap about it, jeesh!
No I think denim is more casual than corduroy. I think you’ll be fine and aleast you’ll be comfortable one day this week. Enjoy the holiday weekend.

hey.. I think you can wear it. Just make sure you couple it up with a slightly formal shirt (not a very casual t-shirt / tank top) & slightly formal footwear (not floaters etc) so that even though the trousers might look casual, the top / shirt will balance it and the over-all look will be semi-formal to go with the Friday feel…
u think it’s acceptable. besides, i think corduroys are much cooler than denims

In my opinion, the only thing more casual than jeans would be sweats, track pants, things of that nature. Corduroy should be fine.
Definitely! Corduroy is more formal than denim. And your fool boss allows bermudas the rest of the week? Laughable! Think about it. Wear a pink (not too light) blouse with them or a black top. Coordinate the shoes to go with this; you should be moving up the ladder with fashion savvy, but your boss “ain’t there.” Maybe someone over your boss will be there, too. Good luck.
